Try to find someone to hang out with. Very common for people here to be on shift, so I can find a friend who's husband is also working and hang out with her. </p> <p>Starting this summer twice out of every 5 weeks DH will work a weekend (one nights one days) so we will get used to it. We have family in town, so we split it up. Sometimes we take it easy and hang out at home, play, maybe go for a walk or something. Sometimes we just run errands. Sometimes we do things with friends or family. It sucks living far from family during med school and residency. More often than not we go stay with my parents, who live about an hour away. If we aren't doing that I try to plan a fun activity (museum, farm, hike) for Saturday and then do grocery shopping and out for lunch on Sunday.</p> <p>I only work two days a week, so I am home alone with my daughter a lot. But on the weekends it's nice to have help and company.
