It's just more convenient to have the baby right next to our room, as opposed to having the baby all the way down the hall. She knows the room as her room and even though it's the smallest bedroom she's too small to care about that right now. He cried for 5-10 minutes when I put him to bed and then slept through the night with no wakeups and he's still sleeping now! Really couldn't have gone better. </p> <p>I just wanted to add that to prepare for the transition we played in his new room a lot the last few weeks and I've done all of his diaper and clothing changes in there so he was pretty comfortable with the room ahead of time. The larger room was our office. Then D2 came along and we didn't know what to do. It's next door to her current room. We've already put together her full sized bed and have some old toys in there. When I get ready in the morning or when I'm upstairs putting clothes away/changing sheets she goes in the "big girl room" to play. I thought it would just be easier to leave the crib in the nursery with the dresser/changing area set up.
