Mine were born about a month apart (late-Jan and early-March) but I also live somewhere were there is no real winters or summers (Sunny Cali!). So we were able to totally reuse clothes. I only bought clothes for my second because I felt bad he never had new clothes so when there was great deals at gap or other nice stores (janie and jack / nordstrom) I would grab a few of those items. So my second actually dresses better than my first... and pretty much dresses better than the whole family. Haha. Since I didn't have to use money to buy like at home items or layering items since we have those. I couldn't reuse as much as I had hoped at first, but now that DD2 is turning 2 (tomorrow!) and wearing 2T clothing, she's wearing more of her sister's old clothes. DD1 was in The bigger sizes for longer, so we have both summer and winter 2T, 3T, etc clothes so we have more season-appropriate hand me downs! On the flip side, because DD1 wore those sizes for longer, they are more worn out. After that, I was able to reuse most everything since DS2 is bigger than DS1 was. I've had to get some footed sleepers and more long sleeve onesies for this winter, but otherwise haven't had to buy him anything - including his patagonia jacket. He's wearing his brother's 18m jacket (which DS1 wore at 18m) and he's 13m. I wanted DD2 to have new clothes. DD1 started being really particular about her clothing from 18 months old so I do have a bunch of things that she refused to wear or just wore a few times. DD2 will still wear anything so I've used those "old" clothes. DD2's uniform is a long sleeve onesie, I like the gap ones in either white or pink, and either a jegging or a legging- super simple! But I pair it with a really cute coat, an adorable headband or bow, and her platinum Freshly Picked Mocs and people freak out over her. One born in late August. The other one born in late May. I've been able to reuse most of it. Baby J was busting out of the 6 month old Christmas stuff that fit E well as a baby. With Baby J being born in early summer, some of the clothes don't match up time wise. J is wearing 9 month old clothes now while E wore 6 month old stuff during winter. Baby J's hand me down pjs are all spring decorated. So, reusing almost all of it. DD1 is a September baby and DD2 was born in April. Having small babies and living Texas means that 90% of the stuff has been reusable. But we're finally hitting a spot where I may need to shop for baby sister. My boys are 20 months apart (November and August), so we were good until right now. LO2 is moving into 9 month clothing and all of LO1's stuff in that size is for spring/summer. BUT I told our families around Christmas, so he got enough winter stuff to last awhile. My boys are March and January and although that isn't a big difference of seasons, here March is in the 80s and January is in the 40s/50s. So I've had to buy some colder weather tiny things. This LO is also a larger baby so I think that may throw things off too, but when he gets a little bigger, I think he will be able to wear plenty of his brother's clothes.
