Our first will be a boy, and I am okay with that because I have a big brother and it's a really special relationship. However, I am making it known that I really want my second to be a girl. For us that might mean adoption, which we've been open to since we started dating 10 years ago. I don't think it's right for *anyone* to pass judgement on wanting a boy or girl! It's your business and your husband's business:-). Most people that do tell us to try for the girl say we'd probably have another boy because that's just the way it seems to work in my family. DH is happy with two so we'll see if I can convince him to go for a third in a couple years. I told him that right when we found out we were expecting again my husband flat out said he'd like another girl. My coworker just laughed and said "nope, all guys want a little boy." People say this to us lots, especially since Mr. T has a farm to pass on. Guess what? Girls can do that. And more. Both Ellie and Lorelei show lots of aptitude for some aspects of what we do on the farm. Neither of us is worried about that at all. Our family is complete. We are happy the way that we are. Enough so that we are planning to take more, *ahem* permanent measures to stay this way. And as everyone knows, having another is no guarantee anyhow. It doesn't bother me when people comment unless they just don't listen and keep pressing their point. Fortunately the in-laws haven't said anything to us on the subject. I had my first person get on my nerves at the grocery the other day. She kept telling Lorelei to, "Tell Mama you need a brother. Tell her what a good mama she is and that she needs to have more kids." Fine-- flattering that you think I'm a good mom. Guess I won't run you over with my cart.
