We live a few hours from my home town and my mom really wants like... ALL of my extended family to meet LO so she's hosting an open house for us in August. LO will be 11 weeks. I think it's an all day thing... like 12-9 or so? She said she wanted people to be able to pop in as they're free throughout the day. My dad is grilling out lunch and dinner, not sure what is on the menu. </p> <p>If we were hosting at our house I'd make it much shorter. Although my MIL wanted to throw a sprinkle, but let's face it, the point of those is gifts, while the point of a sip n see is letting people meet the baby. I'm having trouble figuring it out time-wise though because I'm due in mid-October, and I don't want to have it to soon, but also don't want to wait to long and be in the middle of all of the holiday craziness! But if we do it I think it will definitely be open house style, time will depend on what baby's sleep is looking like at that point, and we'll definitely have food - maybe not a full meal, but snacks, drinks, and a few heavier appetizers would be most likely. LOL I'm due at the end of August so I thought a Oktoberfest themed sip n see could be fun! </p> <p>Sprinkles aren't common in my family which makes me a little sad. Not because of gifts but because I think all babies should be celebrated. I thought instead of people randomly stopping by it might be better to just do open house style one day. It'll Def be at least a month post partum because I will be "sit month" (Chinese custom). </p> <p>Of course, it all depends on how I'm feeling. :) </p>
