I only let DS sleep in only when we are on vacation. I figured is sleep schedule will be messed up, so it doesn't matter. Otherwise, I won't let him sleep past 8, since it will mess with nap time and then bedtime.

Even though I drop DS off really early on the weekdays, he continues to stay asleep during the diaper/clothes change at home, transfer in and out of car seat and at daycare until it's his wake up time. Which coincides with the time he normally wakes up at home on the weekends.

We let him sleep in whenever we can, sometimes that pushes the nap back but we only change bedtime if we're out late- he stayed up late 3 nights in a row with holiday stuff but last night he was down at 7:15 and still slept late!

Not so much on wake ups since she's a early riser. But late naps will push bedtime back just a tad.

@Mrs. Carrot: Yeah, same time! She has high sleep needs and catches up on the weekends.

We let her sleep until she wakes on weekends/holidays, but I will limit a nap (but in reality she usually skips a nap on these days) to keep bedtime close to the same.

We do and our 1 yr old isn't fazed at all. With our 2.5 yr old we make sure he doesn't fall asleep during the day because otherwise bedtime is horrendous. (He doesn't really nap at all at home anymore so the not falling asleep isn't much of an issue).

@DillonLion: So she'll fall asleep at the same time? Mine will without a doubt go to sleep a half hour/hour later if she sleeps later, even if we put her down at the same time as usual.

We always let her sleep in the weekends. If she sleeps really late, her nap will get pushed back. But bedtime never changes regardless of when she wakes up in the morning.

My 2.5 year old usually sleeps 9:30-6:30. We normally wake her up to get ready to leave for daycare, but even on weekends, we don't let her sleep much past 6:45-7 at the latest because it then pushes her bedtime later (meaning she won't fall asleep until later, though we keep her bedtime the same) and throws off her routine for days. If you let your kids sleep in, does it seem to affect their bedtime/naptime at all or do I just have a weird kid?
