@Applesandbananas: i do too! summer candidates seem to be plentiful though. When we looked for a nanny last winter to stay 6 months, there was only one we loved and we were lucky she accepted. For the summer, it seems like lots of great people are looking for summer jobs, so it is harder to narrow down! I even like a third candidate, only she has the least experience so i ruled her out - but we will still take if the others turn us down.

Just wondering as I was trying to decide between 2 candidates for someone to nanny for us for the summer until LO goes to daycare. So far 2 of 3 people we met have been great.

I think I will pick #1 because she has more experience and will be staying in town, whereas the #2 is only here for the summer than moving. So i figure it would be nice to have someone in town that knows LO that we could potentially call on for occasional babysitting after he is in daycare. If she turns down the offer though, I will be just as happy with the other candidate for the summer.

What other factors do people consider when all else is equal?
