I would call another insurer for a quote. I don't live in a flood zone, but there has been some movement in Congress about the national insurance program recently. Rates were set to go up, but in some places, the number was going to be ridiculous. Flood insurance was pretty expensive. I don't remember the exact amount, but it was significantly more than our homeowners insurance.
