@dolphin: she wouldn't drink 5. She now does two 4 ounce sippy cups at school and nurses morning, night and motn. Her ped was good with that.

I think my LO got around 10-12 ounces of WM when I was still nursing morning/night.

My doc said he needed 16 oz of cow milk, which is 2 sippys full. So I assumed he got 4 oz per nursing session, so I shot for 8 ounces of milk. But here's the thing....he only drank as much as he wanted of it. I couldn't force it on him, so trying to keep up was an impossible feat. Once I reAlized this I just made sure to offer it whenever possible and figured he would drink it if he needed it. I know the docs say whole milk, but my LO didn't really start drinking large amounts of milk until I moved to 2%. Now he easily drinks 1-2 sippys a day. He also likes almond but it has fewer calories than 2 %, so I try to keep him on the milk as he is a little one!

@MamaMoose: I was just gonna post this exact question and I found your post! Are you still giving your LO two 5oz bottles at daycare? I'm wondering the same thing because my LOs milk intake is the same as yours (I nurse morning and night and she use to take three 4oz bottles). We recently started giving her cows milk at daycare and she likes it! She could easily drink three 5-6 oz bottles of cows milk but I'm wondering if that's too much.

We nurse am and PM and send ten ounces of cows milk to be given in two separate times.
She also drinks milk with her after school. Snack and dinner. So she gets anywhere from 15-20 ounces of cows milk on top of nursing.

When we went to cows milk she was still nursing twice a day plus eating yogurt and cheese. So I figured any cows milk she had was really just bonus.

When we started cow's milk, DD only drank maybe 2-3 oz of it/day.
Eventually we got up to 12ish ounces a day + nursing on demand.
DS is drinking 8oz of bm a day + 4ish ounces of cow's milk + some water and diluted juice. Homey needs to drink more!!!!!

two 4-5 ounce servings sounds good to me!!

How many ounces of cows milk does your LO have in a day? I figure she's probably getting around 10 ounces of Breastmilk per day from our nursing sessions. How much cows milk should I aim to get in her during the times she's at day care? When she was all Breastmilk she was drinking 12 ounces in the time she was at school. We are transitioning right now so she gets a cow's milk/Breastmilk mix. But she's starting to not finish it all because she's eating so much more table food. I'm thinking I'll go to two 5 ounce servings rather than three four ounce servings. Thoughts?
