The tissue of the inner labia would be fused together/connected. The only way it would affect how she urinates would be if the fused skin continues up to the opening of the urethra (Ellie's does). So instead of having an opening in her vagina, it would be completely or partially closed. If you can talk to her and ask to take a look without much fuss, you can check at home. If you see something that you are unsure about or it looks fused, you can follow up with your doctor. I doubt that's it, but I just thought I'd check because Ellie's pee definitely came out differently than Lorelei's does and she needed the "guard" on the potty and Lorelei doesn't so much.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: That was going to be my suggestion, as well.

Neither of my girls ever wanted to use the big toilet when they were first starting to go potty, but I also haven't noticed the pee shooting straight out.

Weird question, but is it possible that she has a vaginal fusion? Ellie has one and it makes her pee come out... differently.

When I was PTing at the daycare I worked at, we sometimes would sit the boys backwards on the potty and told them to put their hands on the tank. That way, they were leaning a little bit forward and their pee would go into the toilet, rather than spray everywhere. We did this until they learned to hold their penis' down. Maybe that could work for your DD too? These were little potties though, not regular size, so I'm not sure that would make a difference.

Sorry if this is a strange question but here goes - when DD pees the pee goes straight thru the toilet seat gap and then everywhere!! I am constantly pulling out Lysol wipes each time she pees.

I never had to do this with my DS!

I try to get her to sit back (oh and btw she refuses the little floor potty and she wont use the insert on the big potty - she likes to use the reg seat) and open her legs and even squat a little lower into the toilet but it still shoots straight??

My DH keeps asking me why she does this but I have no idea cuz my pee goes straight down.

Is this normal? Is it just cuz she is small? I am guessing she will grow out of it.....hopefully sooner than later!
