@coacheswife123: we started a bottle pretty early (one a night), I pump 3x a day (9AM, 12PM, 3PM) and DS eats around those times but not exactly. We don't do bottles on the weekends when I'm home and he nurses more frequent than that.

@coacheswife123: I would definitely think one every evening is good! When I started back at work, because of my job, I was only able to pump twice even though DS ate 3 times. Ideally, I would have pumped whenever he would usually nurse. The past few months DS's schedule changed and I was able to pump at the two times he usually ate and then he was ready to nurse when I got home, which was perfect for us! I hope the transition is smooth for you!

Ok great ! we also started bottles early and e takes one every evening just fine so we should be good to go??? And when I'm at work I would just pump when he would normally nurse ?

We gave LO his first bottle at 4 weeks. He then had a bottle every other day until I went back to work.

He is 8mo now and has 3-4 four ounce bottles while I am at work (7:30-5:00). On the weekends he is only breastfed. If we have a lng weekend or vacation he has a bottle every other/every third day. If I don't keep the bottle as part of the routine he will refuse it!

My DS first had a bottle in his first week of life! We just tried to make sure that he had a bottle every couple of days to make sure he still took it, but he wasn't too picky with it. I never had him have a whole day of bottles before I went back to work because I knew that he took a bottle fine already and I wouldn't have wanted to pump at home and give a bottle too. If LO is finicky with bottles you could try one bottle a day and see if LO takes that okay.

We started giving one bottle a day or every other day about 10 days before I went back to work. Our son was relatively easy about transitioning once we found the right bottle for him.

How far soon before going back do you recommend starting to give LO a bottle for every feeding ? I figure I need to start earlier than right before to establish a routine ??
