We registered at Amazon and Babies R Us. For my shower, more of the gifts were from BRU or not from our registries at all, but several larger items were from Amazon. Almost all of our gifts from friends and relatives who live in other cities and didn't attend the shower were from Amazon.

I've registered at Amazon because I use it so often. It became my like list. The only ppl that's bought anything from there is my Mom and myself. None of my friends are internet savvy and even with my Mom, I have to either help her out or buy it for her, so there's never a surprise factor.

I have had a friend register on Amazon and I thought it was super convenient - no tax, free shipping, plus there's a gift-wrap option. She lived a few hours away so it was just so convenient for me.

I now live abroad and wish that the registries linked with Amazon.uk - that way shipping to my country would be free. You don't need to open a separate account, all Amazons are the same, but their Baby Registry is only available in the States.

I registered there, especially for bigger ticket items that I knew family would likely buy because the price difference often was substantial. Plus there's the 10 percent completion discount. Still, more people probably went to BRU.

We're only 19 weeks, so we haven't sent out the link to or registry yet. But my in-laws have gotten me gifts from Amazon before and have already looked up our registry. One of my girlfriends has already gotten us a few things from there, too.

We'll also register at Babies R Us and will double up on the items wer have on our Amazon registry-- we'll remove items as they're purchased or return any duplicates.

I registered at Amazon and Babies r Us and we received about half of our gifts from Amazon. Most of our older friends purchased from Babies r Us or just bought stuff that wasn't on our registries.

Not many people bought online stuff from our registry. I think it was because they procrastinated and didn't buy things until the day of the shower. Personally I hate paying for shipping so I like going to the store.

We had only Amazon Registries for both our weddings and now for our baby. For our wedding, older non-internet-user people didn't buy from it, but gave us checks instead (We didn't mind!)
For the baby, not many people have bought for us in general yet. I won't be having a shower though. I'm 37 weeks and wishing people would get moving on the presents! There are tons of people that would be getting us presents if we lived in the US still, so I'm hoping maybe they'll buy after he arrives...

I find that funny - my parents have their gift lists exclusively on Amazon each year, and it is at their bidding that I have an Amazon gift list at all. My mom also puts gift recommendations for her parents on there (I imagine they'll do that for my other grandparents too, now that they also live nearby), and my grandma will buy my mom's Christmas gift from there. My parents are really the only people I know who use it, though.

We did amazon and target. I was expecting mostly stuff from target for my shower, thinking that people would want to pick things out in person. But i was pleasantly surprised that people got things off amazon for the shower. Plus out of town friends sent gifts off the amazon registry, so it worked out well for us.

A few people bought things from it, the ones who are used to using the internet. We only registered on amazon and at a local cloth diaper store, many people bought us gifts that were not on our registries.

It definitely depends how tech-y your family members are. My mom emails daily but that's about all she does really on the Internet, so she just asked my bro to help her buy me something from Amazon. We had a Babies R Us registry too also for anyone who didn't feel comfortable buying off of Amazon.

I have a amazon wishlist and people have bought gifts for LO from it. Grandparents bought stuff off of it for Christmas.

If you registered at Amazon, did people actually buy you gifts from there?
I wonder if people would use it since it's unfamiliar, especially the older generation like grandparents and parents.
If you had more than one registry, did people favor one over the other?
