When we were looking for a rental during our recent relocation, I used Craigslist and a local classifieds site. Personally, Craigslist was almost entirely ads and scams. CL is pretty awful on this side, too. Lots of people put up fake posts, and it's super discouraging also when the only real landlords then have huge huge waiting lists. We're grad students, and we had a horrible time trying to find a place when we moved from out of town last summer. I think it took us four months. We actually only let 4 people come and look at the unit based on their emails. Because they use their % to basically cover damages to the house. They find the tenants and they give them the background &amp; credit checks. They also show them around and they do all of the contract/lease signing. So, literally you can chill in SC and get a check in the mail. When you want to sell or move back, you let them know, they notify the tenants and your good. My dad's company got the tenants to sign 2-year contracts, so you won't have to deal with tenant turn around every 12m.<br /> Find one and give them a call? It may be worth it. Imagine stifling through freaks on CL....yeah, not fun.
