With my second I went back just after 2 weeks, my boss had his vacation planned a year prior. I took her with me, but she didn 't do well bf'ing so that was a little easier. Physically I felt fine, tired but fine. When I had to start taking her to the babysitter is when I had the hardest time. She went with me for 6 months.

I have no experience but I'd imagine that tandem feeding could be really helpful in terms of keeping your supply up!

I'll be in this boat, too...we get two weeks paid, and I might get a third unpaid. But it will only be for a month, then I get the summer off. Thanks for this thread :)

I went back after 3 weeks. I felt fine physically, and I aim to pump every two and a half hours. I had dh send me pictures throughout the day of DD2. My supply has been fine so far it's just a matter of me pumping often enough.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: no advice but ill be going back after 6-8 weeks. I plan on EP but I'm preparing myself for the fact that DS will need formula too. I'm more worried about putting him in daycare.

@rachiecakes: oh that is good advice! Thank you. :) did you put DS in daycare at 7 weeks or was he with family/a nanny?

I'm still BFing DD and have maintained my milk supply thus far. I wonder if that will make BFing the newborn easier and I won't have to worry as much about supply.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I went back at 7 weeks. Physically I was fine. I had a pretty huge episiotomy and it would get sore sitting but it was fine.
Breastfeeding was a challenge. I feel like 6-8 weeks are where you really into the groove and that was when I was just getting back to work. I had to really work hard for my supply and ended up supplementing for that rough patch. I could only pump three times a day at work and I stressed over that.
If there's one thing I would change it would be I'd tell myself not to worry. Don't beat yourself up pumping, you can only do what you can do. If you supplement it's not the end of the world (I felt like it was!)

What helped you get through it? Were you pumping? Able to make breastfeeding work? How did you feel physically?

Looks I'm going back after 4-5 weeks. Advice?
