We shared until I was about 12. I didn't mind it at all, but was definitely excited when I got my own room. My sister and I fought a ton growing up, but nothing more than what I consider to be normal (3 year age difference) and we are bffs now.

I shared a room with my sister until she was about 10 (I was 7). I don't think it helped/hurt our relationship but we really didn't get along until we were both in college and she had my oldest niece. That brought us a lot closer together.

I shared a room until I was just shy of 12. It was one of many reasons why my sister and I were close growing up, but I was thrilled to finally have my own space when I did. I'd want my kids to at least have their own spaces in high school. The times it wasn't great? When my brother and I temporarily shared a room when he was 7 and I was 11, and when both of my sisters and I shared a room (the youngest was an infant who booted us out of our room while she napped).

I shared a room with my brother from the time i was 4 - 6. It was fine. I think up to 6 or 7 is fine for mixed gender siblings to share a room.

I shared a room with my sister and brother (2 and 5 years older then me) from age newborn to 2. Then we moved and I shared a room with my sister till she went to college. So in total 18 years. I still shared one with her when she would come home to visit. I had no problems sharing with her, we would get into sibling spats once and awhile but nothing major.
I still love her and we get along great. In fact she was in her last year university when I was in my first year. So we lived together for a year and it is my favorite memory of that time.

I shared a room with both my older sister (when I was little) and then with my younger sister (when I was older)...until about the age of 13. I loved sharing a room, to be honest. I was so used to sleeping with someone else in the room, I would get scared when the other sister wasn't there for some reason!

We also shared a huge canopy bed.

Then at 13, when my older sister went to college, we all moved up and I got my own room and had to get used to it. =)

I shared a room with my older sister (I am second of 4 girls). She is the one I am least close to as adults. I don't think it has anything to do with sharing a room, our personalities just don't mesh as well. We moved into separate rooms when I was 14 or so? I would have preferred sooner!

I shared a room with my two sisters (one older, one younger) until I went to college. We never really had any issues as far as with sharing or fighting over things. My husband does tease me now that sharing with my older sister ruined me for life. She is a neat freak and would keep our room SO clean. I never really learned good room cleaning or organization because my sister cleaned up all my messes!

I shared my room with my brother, and never had a room of my own until senior year of college. It was great for my relationship with my brother, and I wouldn't have moved out before we went away to college.

I never had my own room growing up. My sister is a year you.her than I am and we shared a room for our entire lives together at home. It would've been nice to have my own room around the pre-teen to teen years. My sister and I are friends and have a lot of mutual friends. We argued when we were younger but we also had good times.

I shared with my sister until I was 9 and she was 7. We had two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs so my parents didn't feel comfortable having one of us on another floor until then. We got along most of the time, though I remember we always fought about who was going to turn off the light, lol.

I moved downstairs at 9 and really enjoyed having my own room.

I didn't share a room, but DH did with his brother.

They shared until high school, but probably would have shared longer if the family hadn't bought a bigger house. They're super close, even now. They lived together in college, and TBH, living away from his brother is the hardest thing about us living in a different city. They text each other a lot too.

how did affect your relationship with your sibling?
At what age would you have wanted to stop sharing a room?
