Thanks! Fitbit is a great idea, but an expensive investment just for the vibrating alarm. XD

My husband had a FitBit that would vibrate as his alarm. Baby and I never even heard it while I was on maternity leave and would sleep blissfully!

We only room-shared for 1 month with lo, but we have rarely needed an alarm clock at all (aside from our "baby/toddler alarm clock!") since she was born over 2 years ago, lol.

Obviously it depends on how early your DH needs to be up, but we didn't need an alarm clock for close to 2 years with our LO. Even now, she is often up before us, and our alarm is always set for 6am.

No, baby has been our alarm clock for the past year. I'd love to wake up to my 6am alarm again.

I have a fitbit charge HR and set my alarm through that. It vibrates and actually does wake me up.

This is a huge problem in our house. DH's alarm has always woken E up, even in the next room. The baby can sleep through it (and the hairdryer, the drawer slamming and everything else he does), but E wakes the baby. So we are all up at 6.30.

We bedshare, and the initial alarm does not wake our daughter up. If we hit the snooze, she will usually wake up the second time it goes off.

@stiletto_mom: we are in the same boat. I'm thinking a low alarm and then follow up with a loud alarm for later when he's awake just in case. I don't remember it being an issue in the past though.

Thanks for all the input everyone!

I think hubby will just choose a soft starting melody and turn it off as he gets up. =)

I just used my regular alarm (cell phone, 80% volume). It never woke LO up. She slept through a fire drill, too. She is almost a year and still sleeps through alarm clocks. I think some babies are just programmed to ignore things like that.

We bedshare and my husband uses an alarm and it's almost never been an issue. He uses a sound that's not too abrasive which helps. You could try a vibrating alarm with something else set for a few minutes later as a back up while you're figuring it out too.

Yes - we just use our cell phones for alarms and never had a problem waking LO. We bed shared, so even closer proximity and no issues.

My husband set his cell phone alarm on low or vibrate. The baby typically would wake around 5am, nurse, and then be sound asleep when hubby woke up at 6:30 for work. I don't think he ever woke the baby up actually.

DH and I will be sharing room with baby. He will need an alarm for work and cannot be late. We plan on having a white noise machine in the room, but do you think that's enough?

How did you guys do it?
