For the first 12 weeks when I was home with her she was swaddled at night and took naps in her swing. For some reason she didn't like naps in her crib. However, when she started daycare at 3 months she was swaddled (Halo swaddle) at daycare for naps and it worked great.

I swaddled for naps and bedtime, and around 3 months I was able to stop swaddling at night. Swaddle is necessary to get him to nap though - turns 4 months in a few days.

@miss-spunkin: we tried to start unswaddling her around 3-4 months and she wouldnt sleep. She finally started protesting the swaddle around 6.5 months, and the only way she'd sleep was on her belly. We went on her cues.

like @chopsuey119 said. We did swaddle so we swaddled for naps, otherwise LO would get mixed messages about naps!

We swaddled til about 6 months when LO started to become a rolling over fiend.

We swaddled DD for naps and nighttime until she was 3-ish months old when she self-weaned. DS only seems to need to be swaddled for naps if I'm putting him in his crib. If he falls asleep in his bouncy seat or car seat, he doesn't naps just fine without it.

@pelikila: when did you do sleep training?

@Thehistoryofus: yeah my LO doesn't like the swing lol. He will sit in there for about 10 minutes every morning while I make breakfast because he likes watching the bird mobile, but then he's done. If I put him in the swing while he's sleeping, he wakes up.

@miss-spunkin: I dont' think it hurts to try. My LO is 8 months and she just started sleeping in her crib. Before we tried everything, including swaddling and she'd still scream. We didnt want to let her cio, so we just let her sleep in her swing, car seat, or stroller because that's what she liked.

Do you also swaddle them for naps?

I have been holding LO for all his day naps thus far but I know I could potentially be creating a bad habit where he won't nap on his own so I'm going to start laying him in bed. I swaddle him St night or else he'll wake himself up with hid arms. Should I swaddle him for naps?

Oh, he's about 7 weeks old
