I used the sleep easy solution to night wean my son and it worked SO well for us. My son already knew how to put himself to sleep (through our own version of modified cry it out) so we didn't need much help beyond the weaning and wakeups that went with them.

We used it with my son. It definitely IS CIO, though not extinction. We have chosen not to do this with my daughter.

Following as I'm interested to see the responses! We're going to try the CIO method for sleep training soon, but I'm open to other ideas since DS also escalates in intensity the more upset he gets!

I'm not really for CIO sleep-training, but I do let LO fuss and cry a little when I can tell (in a way only mom's know) she'll end up asleep sometimes. Usually, I would say LO is a tension-increaser. Flailing, banging her legs and arms, arching her back, just plain-old-pissed-off more and more.

But one of the mom's in our playgroup keeps recommending The Sleepeasy Solution. I've read mixed reviews on it being a "CIO" method vs. it's not really like CIO.

Anyone use this method and can recommend it? Pros? Cons?

I understand it has "checks", but K actually tension-increases every time I try to do a check or pat her when she is crying. But times (like tonight), when I can tell she is just tired crying, I just leave her, close the door, watch the monitor, and she was asleep in 10 min. If only it always worked that way.
