@kjpugs: maybe it's defective? It definately shouldn't stop and flash to zero after a minute. Im on LO#2 using the bottle warmer and never encountered that happening.

@kjpugs: Oh, and is the water reservoir snapped in to place? It needs a good push to be positioned properly.

@kjpugs: The time (in the booklet) is based on ounces, not bottle size, so you may need to guesttimate for the amounts in between 2oz, 4oz, etc.

To set the time, you adjust the the time up or down (the time will be flashing I think), and then press the > button to start the time/warming.

@rahlyrah: @MsLipGloss: @lavender: can I get some help from you guys? Just got ours and it doesn't appear to want to work? I filled and attached the water reservoir, adjusted the basket to fit our 8 oz bottles, and then placed it and the bottle (with 5 oz formula, refrigerated) in the warmer and closed the top. I turned it on, it flashed 5:00 (which per the chart is correct for the 8 oz plastic bottle? I guess it's by bottle size and not formula amount? This was my best guess for 5 oz of formula.) Seeing the 5:00, I hit the > button. It started coujnting down and showed the steam icon. However after less than a minute it just stopped and flashed 00:00. It had not heated at all- it seems that nothing happened. I cannot get it to heat at all. Am I doing something wrong? HELP! I emailed the company but thought I'd ask "real users" too :)

@dagret: we attempted warm water initially and our (rental house) water heater is so old, it takes FOREVER to warm up! I have to do all the bottles at once when we wash them because it takes so long to get hot enough!

@kjpugs: that's a bummer! I was very lucky that we could BF, so mixing wasn't an issue. just thawed out the milk and popped into the cup of hot water to warm.

@Alivoo01: that's cool! We just use formula though, sadly :(

@dagret: That is awesome!! I wish we could do that. Due to a lot of gas problems, we use filtered water and mix in the Dr. Brown's gentle mix pitcher, as the shaking to mix was causing even more gas issues. So we make a day's worth at once and then it is stored in the fridge.

@MsLipGloss: I have a feeling that angels will sing as of Friday! I think our nanny will love it too. We pre-measure the water for her because she gets confused! Her kids are grown, and shes always commenting on our new-fangled stuff- my baby monitor blew her away!

@kjpugs: That measuring system is insane !. . . seriously, Boon, you expect sleep-deprived, hurried parents to measure out the correct amount of water to warm each bottle?! B-a-n-a-n-a-s! I am sure you will like the Dr. Brown's . . . there is a handy little chart in the instruction booklet that breaks down the times for the type of bottle (plastic or glass) , the amount of BM/formula, and the temperature of the BM/formula (like whether it is room temperature or refrigerated, etc.).

@rahlyrah: @MsLipGloss: @lavender: three reccomendations and Boon Orb, you are OUT! Just ordered the Dr B's one on amazon (good price). I saw that it stores water for a few warmings (like the Keurig) and I am SOLD. I hate that I have to measure and pour for every bottle right now. It was bothering DH too... I don't want to end up giving LO a COLD bottle at 4am again!!!! Thanks for the rec.

I have the boon orb too and find that breastmilk needs a full capful (even beyond the "8") but formula only needs about 3/4. Once in a while I find it's too hot but generally it's okay. She has 6 oz bottles and it heats it fine (haven't had any uneven heating issues)

...does it generally work for you?

We use the BOON orb bottle warmer. It generally does the job, but I notice that putting the same amount of water in (per their instructions) with the same amount of formula from the same fridge, I get different results. Sometimes too cold, sometimes too warm. I also hate that the instructions go by 2/4/6/8 ounces, since her daytime bottles are 5 oz right now.

Now that we switched to Dr Brown's and some of her meals are 6 oz, it makes me nervous that the formula goes up slightly higher than the sides of the Orb. I don't know how it will heat larger quantities! Just last night, even though it was very warm when I grabbed it, as I fed her I could feel towards the end that the milk was COLD. Like not even less-warm... COLD. WTH!?!

So my question is... does your warmer work better than this? Is it reliable? Do any of you have Dr Brown's bottle warmer? We use those bottles now and I am wondering if it's worth it to get that one?

Thanks!
