I submit one form at the beginning of the year called the "Recurring Dependent Care Request Form". I just fill out how much per week I pay for daycare ($100) and then have my daycare sign the form. Then I am reimbursed $100 each week without filling anything else out. It is all direct deposited into my checking account.

I submit the invoice we receive from daycare about every other month. I do have to fill out the paperwork every time, but then the money is direct deposited into my bank account. It usually takes a few weeks to process.

We just turn in our monthly invoices (only takes three to reach the year max). Then we get reimbursed weekly. The money goes into a savings account.

Yes, we have kinda used it as a small savings account. Each spring we are hit with a few larger bills (termite bond, vehicle registration, etc) and then in the winter hit with holiday travel and gifts. So we just kinda use the money as the set aside for those types things.

i have it taken out of each paycheck and then submit for reimbursement (in the form of direct deposit) at the end of the year. i kind of like getting one big "payment" because it feels like a bonus. we just ask the daycare for a receipt/invoice for the past year's payments and submit it all at once.

I waited until we hit the max (5k or whatever) and then submitted the daycare receipts. The contribution was coming out of my paycheck monthly so we got a lump sum of everything I'd put in until that point, and then since then, I've been basically getting my contribution back immediately every month.

This is my second year doing one and I kick myself for not having one sooner. I withdrawn the money once I have a month or two of tuition payments, which for me is about every six months or $2500. It's kind of a nice bonus to myself, haha.

Previously I would do it when I reach one months tuition. With one in daycare it'd take about 3 months. Now with two in daycare if I waited til one months tuition it'd take like 2/3 of the year. So I started doing it every month. Even tho I only get about 15% of the actual tuition cost back, I count it as a monthly income where as before I treated it more like a quarterly bonus. We get a tuition receipt by email every month which seems to be good enough.

We do what @ladybee: does. I monitor the account, and once it hits the amount equivalent to one month's fee, we submit a receipt for reimbursement. The reimbursement is directly deposited into our designated checking account. From that point onward, the account is usually covering the previous month's fee so we submit monthly receipts.

We cash flow day care and then use the FSA funds for LO's 529. Because we are investing the money I like to get my hands on it and put it to work rather than letting it sit in the FSA earning nothing all year. So u submit for reimbursement each time the balance gets over $1k. It's direct deposited into my account and takes 3-5 days after I submit the paperwork.

I just have to submit a form signed by daycare by Monday morning to have it on Friday's check (I get paid every Friday.) We usually let it build up a bit and then get it every few months or if something comes up we will use it as an emergency fund. (we did this when DH's heater went out in his car, it was $400 so we just made a claim and it covered it.) Next year we are hoping to not use it and in May after the rain/mud/snow is away get new carpet and use the money in there as a majority of it.

@peaches1038: you don't have to do the paperwork everytime. We just do a snapshot of the check in our bank account- it has our providers name on it, then we just need to enter her tax ID number, which she gave us. Or if your school/daycare provided receipts, those can be submitted as well. It is so much easier than doing paperwork everytime!'

I submit for reimbursement ever 3-4 weeks. I like to have that money on hand to turn around and pay for daycare with it.
We get the reimbursement within a few business days (direct deposit). I will do it one of two ways: either his daycare teacher sends us invoices and I can submit those, or if I paid with a check I can take a screenshot of it once it's been deposited and submit that image.

I get mine as a direct deposit ACH. I don't have a rhyme or reason as to when I "apply" for the funds. This past year I did it in mid-February because we were most of the way through our $5K in expenses already. I didn't get the money all at the time, but rather automatically with each paycheck as it was withheld. I just realized that I stopped receiving reimbursements, so I've now submitted for the remaining portion.

We watch the account and once it'll cover a month we turn it in because we typically need the money. It takes a couple months since it only gets $192 a pay but overall we like it. My best friend with two kids waits until they hit the full $5,000 and turns it in at once.

I submitted for reimbursement 2 times so far this year (once in the spring and once before the holidays). But since its per paycheck that its set aside in the account, I can't apply for the final amount until the end of December. So I will break it up into 3 disbursements. Ours are just included as a direct deposit (same as our paycheck) back to us.

when do you submit for reimbursement?

My dependent care account that we'll use for DS1's preschool this year is a funded-per-paycheck account so they don't provide a spending card up front, but I'll have to submit paperwork online/fax/email for reimbursement.

If any of you use the same, do you do it as you go? Or do you just wait until your max point of contribution and get one lump reimbursement? And in what form do they send your reimbursement payment?

Thanks in advance!
