@birdofafeather: Honestly, there is no downside to this contraption. You'll find a use for it and you can always collapse it and put it in the storage bag with the car seat.

@birdofafeather: I used the bag when I gate checked. The bag (JJCole) got torn, and TSA put a red sharpie on the seat for some/no reason. Next time I bought a seat for LO and stashed the gogo babyz in the overhead. (I will say I used the bag 3 times before that without problem, though we managed to get an empty seat each time.)

@birdofafeather: this is awesome. It's super easy to strap to the car seat. We wheeled LO in it around the airport. We gate checked it all in one piece. It's really worth the money. I was skeptical about it, but changed my mind on it after use.

@looch: @cascademom: @mrs. wagon: so this thing or just the strap? Or a backpack bag to keep the seat safe? We're traveling to Hawaii, going sans stroller (is this stupid?) and wearing her in our boba. Need the seat for the car in Hawaii and in the off chance there is an open seat on the plane. Haven't plane traveled with a toddler and logistics are making me crazy.

We bought one and used it. It was a worthy investment for travel. It was easy to attach to the car seat and wheel around the airport. It was also super easy to gate check, etc. I'd definitely recommend it for airport travel.

Ok, we used that thing and it was fine. My son didn't sit Inth seat in it, but I used it for my backpack.

You have to separate the seat from the wheelie thing to fit it through the security scanner, otherwise it was nice to have.

@mrs. wagon: Yeah, I was planning on gate checking the car seat. We're still doing the lap infant thing. Maybe he'll take to his car seat with this. Last time, we gate checked the infant car seat and Snap N Go, so that was stroller for the trip. He's almost 16 months, so the needs have changed. We were Amazoning on Sunday and I remembered this.

@cascademom: LMW was not crazy about carseats at the time (but didn't HATE them) and she absolutely loved this thing. We put our 3 year old in it too and he loved it too. And if your LO hates carseats, I think it will be good to bring the one you have so at least it's a familiar carseat! And btw if you decide to check your carseat for either flight, you can just throw it in a bag and check it at the counter, or I think you can gate check them too. You just have to go to the baggage carousel after you land to pick it up.

@mrs. wagon: Thank you for the endorsement! I'm hoping that he'll like his car seat better with this. We definitely can pick up a cheap umbrella there if necessary. I'm relieved that we don't have to get another car seat for the trip. It's only going to be a matter of which car it'll be in for LO to go to places. DH is sort of convinced that LO is going to play lots in his grandma's backyard, but I have a feeling LO will get bored quickly.

@cascademom: we got one for our last plane trip and OMG, that thing is AWESOME. We have two kids that were age 3 and 1 at the time and we took one umbrella stroller and one carseat with the gogobabyz. It was great because you can either drag it behind you or push it in front of you, plus we wanted to take the carseat onto the plane, which was GREAT too because my toddler doesn't do well in the seat alone (he scooches down until he's falling off) so when we put him into the carseat he was comfy and happy and didn't move. That being said, he doesn't mind carseats.

If you don't already have an umbrella stroller, you could always buy one when you get there if you find you need it... a cheap one from BRU will be like $15!

@looch: We have a Safety First convertible one. It's a hand me down from my parents since they had an extra one courtesy of my nephews. I keep thinking that a small umbrella stroller will help.

@cascademom: What kind of car seat do you plan to use? We use the Cosco Scenara and I will be honest, I am not sure this will help us. Normally, what we do is bungee the seat to one of our carryons. My son is almost 3 and I don't know how his legs will be with this contraption.

@looch: Please tell me how it goes for you. I'm still thinking that we, at least, need an umbrella stroller for the airport. LO's not fond of his car seat, so I'm thinking that this end all, be all may not be the total of our travel needs. I get that he wants less to carry, etc., but I'm more concerned with LO's travel comfort.

So, I'm 10 days away from traveling to see the inlaws. We're thinking of using a GoGo Babyez. If you use this, would you also take along a stroller, maybe an umbrella stroller? DH seems to think that this will be the only thing we'll need for the trip since his grandmother's neighborhood isn't walkable. I'm thinking about navigating the airport with the GoGo Babyz. Would LO get uncomfortable and want to face forward, etc?! This travelmate eliminates having to provide a car seat to inlaws as well.
