I'm almost always home when the cleaning lady is there. If I'm not, I don't do anything special. We trust her. </p> <p>Although, I wish we had a fireproof safe for the documents. I also do a quick check on our check books because those are easily forged these days. I leave jewelry out in plain sight in soap dishes, some of it fairly valuable. I also leave iPad other computer stuff out. We leave everything out. I think we initially started putting things in drawers, but eventually she proved to be supremely trustworthy. We used to have a little safe for important documents but that was stolen in a move so it almost seems safer to keep things spread out. They were referred by another family I know/trust so I have no concerns leaving valuables out and we've never had any problems. I have never used a housekeeper before and I would like to hire someone. </p>
