At all of the in home day cares we've used (4! :( ), once LO was off of breastmilk or formula, the daycare provides the snacks and food. Right now, they give LO breakfast, morning snack and lunch. If she seems hungry they offer an afternoon snack, but most of the time we give her something when we pick her up.

We send both Lo's to an in home daycare. For LO#1 I pack his lunch and snacks and LO#2 her breast milk bottles.

I wouldn't worry about the rate because as @wonderstruck said, infant care is typically a little more expensive anyway because of ratios.

However, I'm interested that everyone is saying food is included! My LO goes to two different preschools right now (M/W and T/Th) and we are looking into starting an in-home daycare when one of them is closed over the summer. I pack her lunch for both her current schools, and milk for one of the schools. I assumed I would do the same sending her to a sitter.

It's pretty typical for food and drinks to be included in the rate you're paying and for the price to either stay the same or go down a little bit for toddlers - I've never heard of a daycare charging more once the kid is on solids.

At the current in-home everything is included. At a previous in-home we attended I had to pack breakfast (if she would eat it there) and lunch. They provided snacks. Everything they provided was included in tuition.

Everything is included in our monthly tuition. His rate actually went down when he turned 1. If I pick him up past 5pm, they feed him dinner as well.

All the food is included--milk, food, snacks, everything, once she's off baby food. I give her an on-the-go breakfast on the way there and she has a second breakfast with the other children later in the morning. I don't send special food or favorite snacks or anything. I figure it's a good way to diversify her palette, because she'll see the other kids eating things (and they always want what the other has!) and eat them. It's also a good way for me to find out what she's liked to eat, that maybe I wouldn't make at home! Like lo mein noodles!

What do you do about food if your LO is off breastmilk or formula? T is all solids and I'm confused about what would be best to do. Right now I send a few snacks for the day but his babysitter provides everything else, but I don't pay anymore than I did when I was supplying bottles all day either. I'm going to talk to her at pick up about what she wants us to do but I'm curious to how it works for others.

Do you pay extra for the babysitter to buy extra groceries? Or is it included in your regular fees?
Do you supply groceries of your LOs favorite foods for the babysitter to keep in home?
Do you pack breakfast and lunch everyday?

I ask because he just started going back two weeks ago. Last time he went regularly he was on baby food which I made at home and sent with him.
