Since it more closely mimicked the pace of breastfeeding. That being said, when I bought the 9 oz bottles they came with size 2, so we did use those sometimes. All I knew was that when feedings suddenly got longer and he had a hard time getting anything out it was time for the next level up. I don't think you have to follow their stages. Is that terrible? I just don't even pay attention to the numbers! He is 6 months old but I've never noticed a difference in terms of his gas or burps or anything. DD is 2 months and still on the nb nipples that come with the bottle. I'm wondering if I should already be going up a stage for her since I think the next stage is for 1+ months. I *think* my milk flow kinda slow... I def do not have a fast letdown. Or should I just get he 3+ stage since she is already 2 mo? </p>
