I guess we'll have to get her one of her own when we stop cosleeping! :) Though now that I think about it, this one is actually hers, in that we got it as a baby gift, we just started using it long before she arrived. My ped also said there is no harm to continue to use it as long as we/LO wants. I asked at his 12 month appt because I wondered if it was harmful in anyway to keep using it. So at 14 months we have no plans of stopping. He could sleep without it, but it keeps him from hearing outside noises. And I like it for the same reasons you listed. I like not having to tiptoe around the house and worry that they will wake up to our noise. She sleeps fine without it but I like to block out the noise in the house so we don't have to worry about tv volume, doors slamming, etc while she's alseep. Also, I want to keep using it when we have baby #2 so LO can sleep through any crying bc their rooms will be next to each other. I'm going to use white noise in baby #2's room too....I just want to do everything possible to hope both my kids sleep. I was just thinking the other day, when/if we needed to start weaning them off the sound machine. So if you used a sound machine, when did you stop using it and how? Did you do it cold turkey or gradually (i.e. make it a little quieter each night until you eventually turn it off completely)?
