When we first tried, we DTD before O and didn't get pregnant. Did it throughout my O and have a boy. I think because we did it after O, we have a boy. Next time, we'll try before O for a girl.

@lovehoneybee: I think that's right. The point is that sperm with two x chromosomes are heavier and slower and in order to get to the egg, they need to be there when she arrives, otherwise a boy sperm will win the race.

Didn't work for us. I've since done a lot of research and discovered that timing methods are pretty much BS, recent science has disproven the idea that there is a difference in the speed or lifespan of male/female sperm/

we weren't doing the shettles method, but we DTD O-3, O-1 and O+1 and still ended up with a girl.

We were just trying for a baby, in general. We BD 2-3 days before O, and the day of O, so I'm really curious to see what our baby is (we're team green).

I thought if you wanted a girl you should do it a few days BEFORE O and then not right before/on/after? Because girl sperm will last longer but boy sperm are faster so the closer you have sex to O the (theoretical) higher your chances of getting a boy are?

In any case, we weren't specifically trying for a specific gender by the time we got pregnant with E. We had sex 1.5-2 days before O and got a boy.

Yes O+1 and #2 is a girl (or so says the dr). We also DTD 5 days before O though.

With DD, we pulled the goalie after O, not to intentionally try for a specific gender, but just because we decided we would officially start NTNP, and got pregnant with our little girl. So shettles was definitely not accurate for us. We'll see with this baby - we DTD two days before O so it *should* be a girl but we'll see!

We DTD everyday the week of ovulation...so we weren't really trying for boy or girl. But we DTD the day after O and I'm currently pregnant with a boy.

I didn't purposely do it but yes, we DTD after O and we had a boy. This time, I did not DTD after O, thinking it might increase our chances for a gir;l. We shall see!
