Wasn't a problem at all. Emergency surgeries of all kinds happen at all times and stomach fullness isn't a consideration. She did instruct me not to eat anything and to come into the hospital. It was the day before my scheduled section. I started having mild contractions and they stopped completely by that night. </p> <p>I was ultimately sent home. The hospital was full &amp; I was "scheduled" for a 12:45 section but there were two emergencies and I kept getting pushed back. I don't have answers for you because my section was scheduled at 38 weeks + 2 days, so the Dr didn't think there was too much chance — so I didn't give it any thought (although looking back, labour obviously could have started by then). I'll likely have another section in the event of #2, so I'd like to hear what others say!! Did they just do it and hope for the best, or did they have to wait for your stomach to clear?</p> <p>I was told not to eat 8 hours before my scheduled time. But, what if I eat and then go into labor? I need the section, because of a breech baby (and other reasons most of you know), but I don't want to have to labor just because I ate.</p> <p>Obviously, I'm not going to not eat just cause of this reason, but I am just curious to what other's experiences are? </p>
