We've always been relatively active and outgoing, but gone are the coveted weekends we spent with our noses in a good book, or our eyes glued to a Netflix marathon. That was much easier to do when DD was a small infant, and immobile.

Now, with a toddler, we've gotta get out, or she'll get nutty. We live in a beautiful place, so we have a lot of free and accessible activities in our own backyard. We'll usually go for a hike in the hills, take a picnic to the park, bring the kite to the beach, or just walk around downtown and pick up an afternoon treat. Sometimes I miss vegging out, but our weekends are still pretty easy going.

DH is a big homebody, I've learned to do these outside the house with DS when I can so I don't mind staying home more so DH and DS can have time together.

I'm the opposite - I like to be out most of the day, and having a kid has only intensified that. People told me that I'd turn into a homebody once I had a kid to chase around - nope. I think people are just the way they are.

Still a homebody. Maybe when lo is older and convinces me to do things it'll change.

ha, nope not at all.

DH is a social butterfly so I usually volunteer to stay home with the kids so he can go to neighborhood functions. (All our neighborhood friends have grown kids so we are the only ones with LO's)

Our favorite thing to do on the weekends is to have our friends and their kids over to our house. Cookouts in the summer... pizza and games nights in the winter. It lets the kids play together and have fun, we get to socialize with our friends, but we still get to be comfortable at home. Our group of friends is very "come as you are" so we don't need to dress up or put a lot of effort in. We'll often set up pack n plays and put all the kids to bed in the same place and the parents will hang out all night.

So kind of best of both worlds in terms of being hombodies but getting socialization. We also always do one thing away from the house every weekend (zoo, playground, science center, etc).

DH and I are homebodies. Well, we would normally do weekend road trips during the summer, but with the nausea that I'm having still at 19 weeks, I've definitely turned into a hermit crab. I'm hoping this is just the discomfort I'm having from the nausea and when the babies are here, I'll be more open to venturing outside.
