2cm at my 40w appointment had no contractions that I knew of by then - she did a membrane scrap - I believe I had Braxton hicks starting that night - went in to the hosptial at 40w2d and was 5 cm - was admitted - 6 hours later no progress - they broke my water - majorly real contractions - 3 hours later 10 cm ready to push! :)

Interesting post! But I'm now feeling discouraged because it seems like dialation really doesn't mean too much. I'm currently 37 weeks, 3 centimeters, 80% effaced and -1 station. Guess my LO is probably going to decide to cook longer!

I was admitted with a very slight water leak and no feeling of contractions. I was 2 cm dilated, 80% effaced, and was having contractions about every 5-10 minutes.

At my 36 week appt I was 3 cm with a very soft cervix. At 37 weeks it was 4.5cm and very thin. At 38 weeks I was 5 cm. I had lots of Braxton Hicks but nothing too painful. I gave birth at 39 weeks after my water broke.

I never felt any contractions until after we got the induction process going. I was about 2 cm going in. I didn't even feel any BH. I was in triage at 37 weeks due to high BP and the nurse was surprised I wasn't feeling anything as the NST showed I was having contractions every 3 minutes.

I was very "soft" at my 39 week appointment with no dilation. I went into labor after work and was 4cm when I was admitted. So, I probably dilated throughout the work day and didn't notice, so no contractions there until before I got admitted to the hospital.

I was at a 4-5 for several weeks- occasionally I'd feel really bad ones. On his birthday I felt super shitty all day long. Went to get checked at the hospital, had very high bp, turns out I was in active labor but I wasn't really feeling much so they kept me for induction/move things along, but real labor kicked in while we are waiting and he was born 4 hours later.

I was 3 cm dilated and having contractions but I honestly did not even know they were contractions. This was at 30 weeks and I hadn't even taken my birthing classes yet so I was pretty clueless until I went to the doctor and she was like, "um...don't you feel that? Those are contractions!"

The title pretty much sums up my question. I know lots of people are dilated a teeny bit without knowing it particularly, but I'm curious if you were fairly dilated (let's say 2-4 cm) if you also had a lot of contractions that you could feel in the time leading up to that.
