But I'm now feeling discouraged because it seems like dialation really doesn't mean too much. I'm currently 37 weeks, 3 centimeters, 80% effaced and -1 station. Guess my LO is probably going to decide to cook longer! At 37 weeks it was 4.5cm and very thin. At 38 weeks I was 5 cm. I had lots of Braxton Hicks but nothing too painful. I gave birth at 39 weeks after my water broke. I was about 2 cm going in. I didn't even feel any BH. I went into labor after work and was 4cm when I was admitted. On his birthday I felt super shitty all day long. This was at 30 weeks and I hadn't even taken my birthing classes yet so I was pretty clueless until I went to the doctor and she was like, "um...don't you feel that? I was at 4 at my appointment on my due date and went into real labor a few hours later. Just braxton hicks for 20 weeks. I know lots of people are dilated a teeny bit without knowing it particularly, but I'm curious if you were fairly dilated (let's say 2-4 cm) if you also had a lot of contractions that you could feel in the time leading up to that.
