My first came at 41+4. At my 41 week appointment I was at 4cm and did a membrane sweep. This time I have the same time frame (can't go more with midwives). With my first I was induced 41w1d...my original induction was scheduled for 41w0d per my offices protocol, but got rescheduled by the hospital due to "an influx of laboring mothers" ie. I lost my bed. </p> <p>My second induction was scheduled the night before my due date and I delivered on my due date. I had to agree to regular non-stress tests.</p> <p>@meredithNYC: At 37 weeks mine LO1 measured 7.5lbs by growth ultrasound.... tracking to be over 9lbs. I delivered at 40w5d and she was 6lbs 10oz. I didn't pick that date myself but it was because of the increased risks after 42. I came in every few days for NST and to check the fluid level, so if anything were to indicate that the baby wasn't doing fine anymore the induction would have been bumped up.</p> <p>Good luck! My ob broke my water which started my contractions, then I got pitocin. Today is my due date (!!) with LO#1, and LO is still doing well. We started the conversation about inducing today, and tentatively scheduled for Sunday at 5pm (which would be 40+5). My cervix is soft, but closed, so if need be, they are planning on cervadil, so would admit me Sunday evening. I'm trying to balance waiting as long as possible for an induction while still minimizing risk to baby. Our doctor shared that risks start to increase at 41 weeks, then really increase at 42, so we wanted to try to get things moving prior to, or around 41.</p> <p>I'm curious about your experiences, the timing of the induction, why you made that decision, how it went, etc. Thanks!!! </p>
