@nana87: 2nd was way faster if you don't count the 5 1/2 days of prodromal.

Induced with the 2nd as well. Labor was much faster than the first. I attribute that all to a failed epi with the first one and my body wouldn't relax. Smooth sailing with the epi with the 2nd and I was done within 9 hours.

Another positive story for you! I was induced at 39 weeks with my first because my water broke at 38+6 and I was GBS+ and had no contractions for 12+ hours. My induction was SO tough and I pushed for 2.5 hours.

With #2 I went into labor naturally on my due date and my labour was AMAZING! So much quicker and I literally did not push! It was seriously amazing.

I am soo hopeful the second is faster/easier than the first. I went in on Weds afternoon to start induction with DD, didn't have her until Friday at 920 pm. Weds and Thurs were basically a waste of time, I didn't progress at all until I got epi and foley bulbs Fri at 6 am, then Pitocin. Ended up pushing for 2 hours

Induced with my first at 39 weeks and it was a looooong process. In the hospital for 2 days before even starting the pitocin. Once Pitocin was started, it was pretty quick. I think it was started around 10 or 11 am and he arrived just before 6 pm. My second and third labors were SO much better in comparison. With both of them, the contractions started very mildly the day before and continued overnight. But it was very easy early labor. With my second I was checked at 4 cm at my regular mw appointment, got home and had my water break and then he was born just over an hour later. No time for any pain meds and no tearing/stitches! With my third, once things picked up we made our way to the hospital and I was 6 cm. I got the epidural this time and it was too strong so pushing took longer and I had some BP issues to fix before I was even able to start pushing but even with that, he was born within a few hours of getting to the hospital. Again no tearing or stitches! Definitely preferred natural labor to the induction!

This is so reassuring to read. I was induced at 39 weeks with my first because of low fluid levels. Admitted to the hospital at 8pm on a Thursday night and baby didn't come until 11 pm on a Saturday night. Pushed for over 3 hours. It was bad.
Now 20 weeks with my second and hoping this time around won't be as traumatic!! These stories are so great to hear!

I was induced at 38 weeks with my first (pre-e). Labor was still quick. 6 hours from start of pitocin, 4 hours from water breaking.

Induced at 40+1 the second time. No medical reason, my OB was induction happy (I've since switched). 4 hours from start of pit until birth. I had no pain relief The second time so obviously that made it more difficult, but it was quick and still fairly "easy".

I was induced with my first due to hypertension. Labor was soooooo long and slow. Not too painful because I got an epidural at 4cm.

With my second I went overdue, but labor was literally 2 hours and done. It was SO painful!!!! Omg. I had terrible back labor.

Another good story here. I was induced at 39 weeks with LO1 for low fluid. I ended up having a C section after making no progress with labor. LO2 I went into labor naturally at 37 weeks and it was fast and easy relatively speaking. Hoping for the same for you!

I was induced at 41 weeks after my water broke but contractions didn't start after a long time. Pit is dreadful and the contractions were worse than anything I could have imagined!

Second birth was a dream come true. I didn't think I was actually in labor for along time because the pain was so much less. When my husband finally convinced me to go to the hospital I was already at 7 cm. I'm three hours the baby was born. It was too late to get an epidural when I asked and the midwife assured me i would be nursing in 30 mins; I was!

Induced first time due to GD. Whole thing took almost 16-18 hours till I was ready to push AND I pushed for 2 hrs.

Also had GD 2nd time; baby came on her own at 37 weeks. Got the ok to got to hospital around 1; pushed her out in 20 min by 9.

@nana87: I can't say yet as I'm 7 months out from finding out if I'll go into labor naturally! Hash. But please report back! I was induced at 42 weeks and also never had an BH my whole pregnancy, just pitocin contractions from beginning to end of labour.

Good luck. :)

I was induced at 41 weeks and delivery took over 24 hours.

LO2 came two weeks earlier and I went into labor on my own. He came super fast. I started feeling contractions around 2am, got to the hospital at 3am, and he was born by 5am. No time for epidural bc he came too fast.

Induced at 40 + 4 with my first, delivered vaginally two hard days of labor later. Went into labor at 40 + 2 with my second, delivered 12 hours later med free. It was the ideal natural birth after induction story, I was so thrilled.

First time i was induced because of reduced movements. Ended up having pitocin and contractions were horrible, labor was 11 hours.
With my 2nd I was in denial when contractions started because they were manageable and timeable. Labor ended up being 4 hours and so much easier! The pain was no where near as bad and I actually got a break between contractions. Having such an easy labor/birth for lo2 is what changed my mind about having a third.
Lo1 - had at 38 weeks 5 days
Lol - I had at 40 weeks 1 day

Yes I was induced both times because my water broke and I wasn't having contractions. The second time it was a significantly shorter labor, less pushing, and an easier recovery.

I was induced the first time around at 39 weeks exactly due to low fluids and an umbilical issue. The second time around I went into labor on my own at 38 and 3 and it went pretty fast. I started feeling contractions with my water leaking at around 6 pm, had the baby at 5 am. It was actually easier the second time around (no pit) and I felt great afterwards.

...what was labor like with your second/third/etc? Was it faster? Easier? Earlier? Later? Did you need an induction again?

Lots of childbirth questions on the boards today, and I wanted to add my own! I'm 37w2d today, and with my first pregnancy I was induced at 37+3 so this is definitely on my brain! I don't have the same complications as last time (low fluid levels) so there's no reason to think I'll be early this time too, but it just all feels so unknown from here on out even though I've done this before. I'd never even had BH with my first pregnancy, only pit-induced contractions, so early labor is a whole new thing to me and my dr keeps saying it'll be faster, so I'm a little anxious!
