The only person that my child will not be left alone with is my Dad, he "disciplined" in much worse ways than spanking and I will never trust him. I've seen the way he is with my nephews and it scares me. I won't even leave our baby over there if my Mom is caregiving, she will have to come to our house. Frankly, I don't think he is that excited about it or interested in a caregiving role, so I'll only need to chat with my Mom about it. I trust my MIL and her judgement completely, but I doubht she would spank. FIL is out of the picture. Bleh, I'm glad I've been going to counseling weekly.
