It allowed us to see the baby's heartbeat, which helped to confirm that the pregnancy was viable. I had almost the same experience! Crazy long cycles but they wanted me to come in right away bc LMP said I was 8 weeks, but I knew due to charting I was only 5. The doctor said it was not viable but I was sure of my dates so I pushed her to tell me that it would look right if I were right. They did my blood tests to show my counts going up and I went back in for another dating US that showed my due date was exactly the day that my charging said. So, the ultrasound sounded pretty standard to me. Of course, they are going by my LMP and say I'll be 8+ weeks on Monday, but I know I'll only be about 7 weeks. I'm curious to see how things will change after the ultrasound. The first scan is always at 12 weeks unless you have bleeding or pain. I was 10 weeks 2 days at our first appointment/ultrasound.
