We are TG and have a 3 y/o. She is super excited to be a big sister and I don't think that not knowing the gender has lessened the experience for her or anything. She changed her mind daily on whether she wants a brother or sister. When people ask her if she is having a brother or sister she always says "We don't know yet. It's a surprise!"

We are not TG this time around partially for this reason (but mostly because we just want to know). LO is set on a baby sister.

My parents didn't find out the sex of my brother who is 10 years younger. I was so set on a baby sister and when I heard it was a boy I remember being so disappointed! But I got over it quickly especially meeting him and the excitement of a new baby.

My oldest was only 2 so she didn't really care too much. She did tel everyone she was having a "baby sister" (which she was right about). If the baby had been a boy I don't think it would have phased her in the least.

She liked feeling the baby move, guessing what it was, planning the room, etc. Still lots to keep her excited about baby coming without knowing the sex

We are not TG, but there was about a 24 hour period when our girls (2 and 4) knew that they were getting a sibling, but we didn't know the sex. My 4 year old refused to accept the possibility that it could be a boy, so I think going TG would have been hard!

We are technically TG but based on a recent u/s I'm feeling 90% boy. All along LO1 says it has to be another boy and earlier LO2 called my belly baby sister. Now that we are approaching baby's arrival neither of them seems to have a strong opinion on whether they want a baby boy or girl. LO1 is turning 4 and just says he doesn't know! But he loves to talk to the baby and tell stories, etc. LO2 is only 2 so I don't know he really understands the difference or if boy or girl, its still just a baby. I'll let you know their reactions in a few weeks but so far I think not knowing is kind of fun for them!

My daughter was 3 when my youngest daughter was born, and we were TG. She was just really into knowing there was a baby in my belly. She would occasionally say "I want a baby girl" and we would say "we just have to wait and see, but it will be exciting either way". I get why people would find out to give their older kid something more concrete... but we haven't found that to be necessary. It almost made it more fun for her to guess every day. And come up with multiple names.

If you were Team Green when you already had a little one, how did they react to not knowing? I'm especially curious about how they did if they really wanted one gender and the baby turned out to be the other.

We are tentatively planning to be TG if we have another baby, but our twins (3 1/2 years) REALLY want a baby sister. One of them prays every single night for God to give him a "baby sister, Caroline." No idea where the name came from, but that's what he's been praying for MONTHS! The other twin always says we should have a baby sister, too, but I don't think it will phase him one way or the other. I would hate for my little guy to be really disappointed when he meets that hypothetical baby and finds out that it's NOT a "baby sister, Caroline." But maybe it makes it easier that way since there's an actual baby brother to see and hold then? Thoughts?

So, how did being TG go with your LO?
