My mom has debilitating arthritis (has had both hips replaced, getting both knees this spring) and it would be nice to be able to have her visit without worrying about stairs. And pretty much everyone on her side of the family has this condition, so I'm expecting to get it too. I tutored a girl back in 1996 and her parents had an elevator in their home.<br /> Our builder says most homes being built these days have a spot built in for an elevator--in case there's a need for an elevator to be installed in the home in the future (disability, etc) </p> <p>We're having that little spot built in for sure (will help with resale of our home in the future). </p>
