We didn't settle on having a second until E was almost 2.5. D was like 98% sure he didn't want a second, and I went back and forth a lot. I was almost at peace with almost having one, but whenever I pictured our future it was always with a second. When D changed his mind I was actually in a "one would be good" phase, but I know I would regret not having one more. So we got rid of the IUD and got pregnant the first cycle, lol. No time to reconsider!

No answers here either. I've posted about this here before, but I really would like a second, but my husband is very much one and done. But, like @Ms. Line:, I really see the advantage of just one! It does seem so much easier in most ways

No answers, just chiming in to say I'm in the same boat. I'm not ruling two out entirely, but it seems like it would be so much easier to live my lovely life with just one!

when did you decide you wanted a second? what tipped the scales for you?

DH and I went in to having kids with a try one and see how it goes mindset. DS was not an easy baby - really bad sleeper, chronic ear infections. He is 13 months now and things are getting better and he is SO much fun. I'm still not sure I want another. Some of the reasons are practical - less expensive, less stress to have just one, easier to travel etc. Some of the reasons are emotional - my brother and I got along horribly growing up, I don't want to take my attention away from DS.

But seeing Mr. Bee's blog post today made me think that having two kids could be really great. Still not sure though.
