I think it would be courteous to tell with a few months notice even if it has to be over the phone but I don't think you have to tell now. With my 1st, I told her in person on a random day she happened to come to my building. I was still in the 1st trimester but decided to take the opportunity and tell her in person. I am going in next week for a meeting but I think 9ish weeks might be too early to tell him but it will be the only in person opportunity that I will have for some time.
