You ladies make me feel like a slacker. I stopped going to the gym around 20 weeks, haha.

I worked out until my due date, but I wore a heart monitor and just made sure I didn't go over a certain heart rate prescribed by my doctor.

I was walking and hiking regularly up until around 31 weeks when I had serious pelvic pain on one side and I basically put myself on modified bed rest. Last week I was able to start walking again - I think baby got so big he equalized a little bit. :)

I jogged 4-5 days a week until the 8th month, when the pelvic bone pain got too bad. I walked for another month and then stopped for the last month.

I just walked and walked. Even past 40 weeks I was still walking 20 or 30 minutes at a time. I just did whatever I could, and it slowly got to be less and less.

I was running about 20k per week until 8 weeks, but had to stop because it got too hot. I continued to do weights until the beginning of the second trimester. I did 90 minute vinyasa and hatha flow yoga classes twice a week until 36 weeks. I still did after dinner walks a few times a week with the husband.

I worked out (walking briskly on the treadmill and using the elliptical) until the day before I went into labor. I would try to stay somewhat active if you can, even if it's just taking a leisurely walk around the neighborhood. I found that I was more tired on days I didn't work out.

I am with you! I think my bump feels tired, too! I am 33 weeks, and the working out has definitely tapered off over the last few weeks. I am still walking a lot and doing a lot of housework; every once and a while I can get in a 20-30 minute yoga or strength practice, but it is no more than 1-2 a week at this point.

I do stretching every day though (sometimes multiple times a day) and it feels great!

I worked out til the day before I went into preterm labor at 30 weeks (yikes!) I jogged/did elliptical til 20 weeks then just did elliptical or walked. I was put on bedrest at 30 weeks so didn't do any form of exercise til 37 weeks when I did some walking!

I worked out (prenatal pilates) all the way until the end of my 41.5 week pregnancy, plus walking the dog to the very end too. just listen to your body though - I definitely took a week off here and there when my aches and pains got the best of me.

i was working out pretty regularly up until about 28 or 29 weeks. i have a cardio machine in my apt, so it was easy to just hop on. that's mainly what i was doing, although throughout the second trimester, i had to lower the intensity steadily becuase i was losing my breath and stamina as i went along. and usually when i keep up with regular workouts, i increase, not decrease the intensity. The only reason i stopped those workouts is because i started a full time job right at the beginning of my third trimester and i just couldn't fit it in anymore on top of everything else i had to. Although, i have kept up with going for walks a few times a week.

For my last pregnancy, I worked out up to the date of my induction at 41 weeks but my intensity dropped around 35 weeks? I went from level 5 to level 2 or 3 on the machines!

When did you start tapering off?

I haven't been working out hard core, but have been making an effort to walk 30 minutes a day, usually 4-5 times a week. I usually throw at least one prenatal yoga session into the mix, too. But last week I only walked once and did no yoga. I just feel so tired and unmotivated and walking is the last thing I want to do.

I'm currently 29 weeks and my hips, legs, bump feel sore and tired (can your bump feel tired - haha??) Maybe its just a growth spurt and I'll want to get moving again soon?

When did you start to back off from your exercise routine during pregnancy?
