I feel your pain (and concern). My LO is now 3 (and 3 months) and still often does not STTN. He is usually up at least once and it's exhausting for him and for us. He has never been a good sleeper (only began STTN at 18 months) but the good thing is that when he wakes up now, he will often just need a snuggle and will then of back to sleep. Hang in there!

@bloved: that is interesting!

I feel like it's not normal to have a 2-3 year old not sttn but I guess it's more normal than I thought! It's just a mess because my kids have to share a room--one wakes up and they are both up!

I'm not in this situation but if I were, I wouldn't be concerned for LO, I'd be concerned for me! That sounds so selfish, but it's honest and I didn't realize how important good-quality sleep was to me, until I didn't have it. I believe most people have much better coping abilities than I do in this department, so I'm hoping that he continues to sttn.

My son is over 2.5 and still does not regularly sleep through the night. I am not really worried about him, just sad/frustrated that none of us are sleeping! That being said, out allergist did recommend him to an ent to get his anoids checked bc she thought that might be contributing. We haven't had the appt yet but I would love to get an answer!

I mean, my 4 year old still wakes most nights and comes and snuggles up in bed with us. These days it's often at 6 or 7 in the morning, so not really the night. It isn't a problem for me. My husband and I get most of the night just for us (besides all the baby wake ups) and then we enjoy snuggling up with her.

DS is almost three and wakes a majority of the nights. Once of us usually checks and just have to cover him and rub his back and he is back to sleep.

It is tiring but it can't last forever I hope.

T is 2 next week and is so far from STTN. He used to but the 18 month sleep regression got us bad. He never recovered. I'm not really concerned. Just tired.

Kids wake for a variety of reasons. As long as it is the exception, not the norm, I wouldn't be concerned.

My two year old wakes up maybe once a week. Mostly he had a scary dream or something. We don't even have to pick him up...we just go in to check on him and say go back to sleep. That seems to work lately.

His sleep wasn't so great when his molars were coming in. Maybe that is happening now?

Only worried about my sanity. He didn't sttn until right at 3. My 17 is not sleeping through the night either so I'm sure I have another 18 months or so... :bummed:

Mine is 2 and still wakes up once sometimes more. It's about once a week i would say, but depending on illness and other unidentifiable toddler behavior can be for a few weeks at a time. It doesn't worry me, I'm just tired! I think it's completely normal.

Did it concern you? My other child sttn at 17 months and I thought that was bad.

She's had good sleep habits until we got several illnesses around 15 months. Lately been waking up at least once, sometimes twice hysterical.
