@Veggie: he stayed breech :bummed: I tried spinning babies stuff and an ECV but he was a stubborn one. I will say that the scheduled c-section was a positive experience in the end. I was able to prepare and research so I knew what to expect which went a long way towards making me feel better about it and ultimately probably helped me have a really easy recovery. Best of luck to you! Feel free to wall me if you have other questions.

Reviving this thread because I just found out at 36w3d my baby is breach. At the last two prenatal appointments, so 34 and 32 the dr said baby was head down. I don't ever remember feeling baby move.

@JennyPenny: How did everything turn out with your little one?

Mine flipped a few times in the last few weeks. It was nerve wracking. He was head down on labour day. I saw a chiropractor and the first time he flipped we thought it was because of her, but then it seemed random.

@MissLace: I've been doing some spinning babies stuff and during a breech tilt I'm pretty sure he turned from frank breech to transverse, and that was pretty dang uncomfortable and my sides still hurt 2 hrs later. So I can imagine an ECV is probably at least a step up. But my plan is still to try it if I can/need to. I *think* I may have flipped him though...😬

@MissLace: they gave me two medications- a muscle relaxant and fentanyl (pain med). It was painful, not as bad as being in labor- but I did have to do deep breathing to get through it and it was extremely uncomfortable. The meds definitely helped.

I definitely think it's worth a shot and given the chance, I still would have at least tried!
Good luck and hope your baby flips!

@MissLace: my ECV wasn't painful at all and it only took baby about thirty seconds to flip (no joke, it was the fastest the OB had ever seen a baby turn!)

@Mrs. Pen: did the ECV hurt?

Same deal here, baby was head down for weeks and at my 36 week appointment moved to transverse. I have an appt on tuesday to do an ultrasound and discuss ECV vs C-section.

He was transverse at 36 weeks, and full breech by 37 weeks :( I delivered at 37+4, so I ended up with a cesarean.

I did a full week of spinning babies, and the OB tried ECV, and both were unsuccessful. I was so disappointed.

Looks like a lot of staying breech, both here and in the thread @nellywm mentioned :bummed: I wish I could tell on my own what position he was in so I could tell if any of the spinning babies or other techniques work...

Baby flipped breech at 38.5 weeks and stayed breech. I didn't do anything to try to flip her though, so I can't vouch for that.

Good luck to you!

My daughter went breech somewhere between 38 and 39 weeks. We found out at my 39 week appt so she didn't flip back, but there wasn't enough time to see if she would do it on her own. I hope your baby flips on his own! Good luck!

Hard for me to vote here! Baby flipped back. It was after I did a bunch of different stuff, including acupuncture and all the stuff that Spinning Babies had recommended. But I honestly think that he was just a wiggler and would have done it naturally. My OB had guessed he would based on the fact that he had been head down at several prior visits and had just moved.

DS2 was head down (according to feel) at my regular appointment at 36w3d, but now he's breech according to my MFM ultrasound at 36w6d. The doctor (who is not my regular OB) today said it was time to start talking about turning him, or scheduling a C-section, but I'm thinking that if he just flipped, he could do it again. So if you had a baby flip head down to breech shortly before due date, did they end up flipping back?
