@loveisstrange: same for us. It was 5:30 for a long time and as naps dropped it moved to 6:30 around a year. Then around 18-20 months it moved to 7:30. Now at 26 months her bedtime is 8:00 if she sleeps during naptime. If she just plays in her bed during naptime her bedtime is 7:00

@yellowbird: we were sitting in a rocker & reading books or nursing and he'd often fall asleep in our arms. We moved the nursing & limit the books now, so he's awake when he goes into bed.

@looch: she doesn't nap, but I attribute it more to being school. It really wears her out and she can't wait to sleep.

@JoyfulKiwi: he could be adjusting his bedtime. Are you still putting him down in his crib at the same time?

@Andrea: did she drop the nap? I wonder if that is a part of it?

@Andrea: I'm so happy when I hear you say this. I don't plan on making M's bedtime any later any time in the near future (especially with our wake-up times). She goes to bed at 6:30. It's nice to know other kids have early bedtimes, too. Especially in the summer when I hear kids outside playing until it gets dark!

She was 5:45 for a long time, then it was 6pm. It changed to 6:30 around a year and at 21 months, it's usually 7-7:30, that started around 17/18 months.

Yes it changed - as the naps dropped bedtime got a little earlier.

My DS was going to bed at 830 but once naps were over its 730

My DD goes down at 730 but if she doesn't nap its usually 6pm bedtime.

It has moved around a bit between 5:30 and 6:30, but it hasn't changed much. As a baby, she went to bed at 5:30 pm. Now she is almost 4 years old and is in bed by 6 pm.

Hmm.. Once we sleep trained Chloe, 8pm was her bedtime. She was great about going to sleep!

Now she's 2 and we still do our bedtime routine and get her in bed by 8:30, but man she pulls out all the stops. It's nearly 10 and I still hear her chatting to herself.

...did they move to a later bedtime as a toddler?

F is nearly 16 months. He's always gone to bed between 6:30-7pm, but this past week has been closer to 7:30. We switched up his bedtime routine so we're not cuddling so long in the rocker & he's in his bed more.

I'm curious if he's just adjusting to putting himself to sleep or if he's creating a new bedtime?
