Like @MrsRcCar, we were only in the NICU for 17 days but we and especially DH were super lenient with DS. He's 14 months now and we are finally starting to treat him like a full term baby lol. We co-slept (which I never thought we'd do) and he was held ALL THE TIME. Luckily for us though he never had an issue transitioning to his crib, falling asleep on his own, etc. All those bad habits we were happy to give in to didn't affect him negatively.</p> <p>I think we also felt like we had to make up for lost time. The doctors are very impressed in his progress. The nurses in the NICU said that sometimes preemies just need to feel more physical pressure on their bodies to feel safe. I'm going insane, and DH is working a ton so 90% of the time it's just me. But, part of me feels like he missed out on so much of the early snuggles/attention, he deserves it? </p> <p>Just curious is anyone else went through this and how you dealt with it... </p>
