LO didn't drop to 2 naps until pretty late (maybe 8 months?) and even now he still has some 3 nap days. His day looks something like this:

5-6am Wake up
8/8:30 - 10-11:30 First nap
12/1 - 2/3 Second nap
(Optional 4-5 Third nap)
7:30 Bedtime

I only attempt the third nap if the first two were super super short like 1.5 hours each and the second ended at 2, which even if I did bedtime at 7 would be too long of a stretch. Sometimes he'll just lie there and play around in bed for the entire time his white noise is on which is fine with me, so I just leave him there.

Yes! That last stretch is usually super long and most times she rights me because she wants to nap / sleep around 5. Which just can't happen. I try so hard to get her to take a catnap around 430 and usually fail. So I end with a cranky baby when I'm trying to cook dinner. In an ideal world she wants to be in her room for the night by 7pm.

We seem to always miss that first good nap. It's at such a crappy time because I'm usually trying to get big sister her second breakfast around then and DH is trying to run out the door.

K has been doing 2 naps for a long time, since 3 or 4 months?

2 hours after she wakes up, she naps for about 2 hours. Then 3 hours after she wakes up from nap #1 she naps again for 3 hours. Then about 3 hours after nap #2 she goes to bed.

Granted, that is 'average'. Sometimes she needs a catnap, sometimes she only sleeps for 1 hour, sometimes she needs nap number two 2 hours after she wakes from nap number one and then is awake for waaay too long before bed... you get the picture ;)

We pushed to a 2 nap schedule at 5 months. It was hard, but her naps consolidated naturally shortly thereafter. We just had to do super early bedtime which she fought, but there was no other way.

Have you tried nap extensions? Assuming you are home with LO during the day. I was a SAHM at that point and I would rock LO back to sleep once she started to stir around 40 minutes in. It would get me another 45 minutes and a happier baby.

2-3 hours after she wakes up for the day, then 3-4 hours after that. Bedtime is 3-4 hours after her second nap.

Ugh I was just thinking about this! Super similar schedule over here as with @MenagerieMama, actually - although my nap-hating 7 month old son usually does two catnaps in the AM (between 20 and 40 minutes) around 9:00 and 11 and then usually a longer one (actually 1.5 yesterday at daycare, thankfully!) around 2:30.

We also just shifted bedtime from 6:30 to 7:15 with DST, and if we keep him occupied, he's good until then. He's asleep by 7:45 PM, and waking between 7:30 and 7:45 AM. He's also doing 1-2 wake ups at night, but netting about 11 hours of sleep, I'd guess.

If you find the secret for condensing two catnaps into a good long nap, shoot them my way! ;) Good luck!

So this is a bit in flux since we just shifted her bedtime with daylight savings. She's been on 2 naps for a while, we often will try for nap 3 because she'll be tired and it's a long stretch from nap 2 to bedtime but she HATES her 3rd nap so we usually just need to go adventuring in the afternoon. We don't push it because it just makes everyone cranky and as long as she stays occupied she's fine. Girlfriend loves her bedtime though! It was 6pm until we used daylight savings to move it.

6:30-7:30am wake up
9:30am nap 1-2 hrs
1:30pm nap 1-2 hrs
(she's been doing 1.5 hr naps lately)
7pm bedtime
Usually 2 MOTN wake ups

Though today she was up 4 times last night, then catnapped slept in bed with me after I got her at 7:30 for an hour, and went down for her first nap at 10:30 and is now waking up at 1pm! So go figure. Clearly just a "loose" schedule, ha.

When are they and for how long? What time do they wake for the day and sleep for the night?

My 6m old's naps have been all over the place the last few weeks. I wonder if she's ready to go to 2. Most days it's one cat nap and maybe one decent nap. Some times 2-3 cat naps.
