C STTN from 10 weeks until about 5 months.

She's 11 months now and occasionally STTNs (like, once a month)... no signs of her going back to her old ways yet :(

@googly-eyes: I guess to me 3+ times is a lot. My son wakes up an average of 5 times. half the time it's as easy as nursing him or giving him a paci and half the time it can take awhile to get him back to sleep. We have some nights where he wakes every 1-2 hours! That is rough! If he only woke twice, I would be so happy! It sounds like your LO wakes up a lot to me. And those times where it takes longer to get back to sleep are rough! DH usually handles those by rocking him. I don't have any advice as I'm in the wait and it will *hopefully* get better one day camp. lol

@regberadaisy: Thanks! It depends on if someone else leaves or not...so we'll see. I think I'll be ok either way but I do eventually want to go back to work!! Thanks for all your help, I have been so stressed out about this lately, feeling like I caused this!

Ha. This was my baby!

Started sleeping through the night about 6.5-7 months. Did so for a month, then we moved to a new apartment. I thought it would take a week for him to adjust so I didn't think much of it... but then he didn't start STTN until he was a year old! So it lasted awhile. But he was only waking up 1-2 times and would often go back to sleep with a quick nursing session or a pacifier.

Oh, good luck on the possible FT position if you want it!

@regberadaisy: Yeesh that's crazy!!! Dd is waking usually 3-4 times per night but at least one of those times will not go back down. Sometimes I put her in the pnp in our room and go to sleep while she's still (barely) awake. I have a one day a week commitment that might turn into a f/t job soon and I'm worried for what will happen then. I've been getting occasional help with her so I can complete grad school stuff, but I know I'm not doing as well as I could/should.

ETA: hey, whatever works!!! If it's the swing so be it! I held my LO for naps up until she was 10 or 11 months!

@regberadaisy: @sorrycharlie: Thanks ladies!! I am currently letting her sleep in her swing. Nothing was working, and probably less than two mins in the swing and she was out. She dropped the swing on her own last time, so hopefully she will again! We'll just keep trying for the crib naps, but not stressing so much when they don't go right! :)

My son slept through the night until 4 months and now at 8 months is still waking up a lot. I have hope that one day, when he's ready, he'll start sleeping longer again. I hope your LO's sleep improves soon!

@regberadaisy: we have never attempted total CIO but on occasion we let her cry, if it seems nothing is working and she is tired. Most of the time I'm in the room she just plays in her crib, and when I leave she cries. She doesn't rock to sleep except in the swing which I hate to use as she is outgrowing it.. Idk what to try now..

@googly-eyes: LO was always a terrible sleeper and we just kinda let it be. Until the 4 month sleep regression which lasted till about 7.5 months. We did try a few times and it just did not work with us. I tried being in the room, not being in the room. She can literally cry for up to over an hour. Nothing we did worked.
When she was ready she miraculously starting sleeping through the night. Same thing for naps she was a champion 20 minute napper till she was ready. And now she naps 1-2 hours at daycare and on the weekends 2 naps and each around around 1.5-2hrs.

O slept through til 3.5 months, then stopped the same day she self-swaddle weaned AND got a wicked cold. Not sure if it was one of those, of the 4 month sleep regression that got us. She just started sleeping longer stretches the past couple weeks..and by that, I mean like, 5 hours. Every other day.

Mine STTN from 2-5 months, and then stopped. Now at 21 months she'll do it for a few weeks then go back to waking once, then go back. Each time I wonder if this is the time she'll start sleeping through . . . forever. So far no dice.

M stopped when she got really sick and ever since then it's a hit or miss. Generally now she wakes up 1-3 times before I go to bed. If I'm lucky she STTN after I go to bed. If not it's usually wake up once overnight and sometimes twice.

How long til they went back to STTN?

LO slept ~7-8 hrs from a little past 2 months and we gradually moved bedtime earlier which got her to sleep 10-11 hrs. But at 8 months, she stopped. At 9 months, we usually have 1 longer wakeup (30mins-1hr) and maybe 1-3 pacifier semi-wakeups. She is up for the day earlier by about 40 min-1hr. She also needs us in the room to fall asleep, which she didn't before separation anxiety peaked last month. I thought maybe it was the 9 mo sleep regression a little early...but I don't know, it's been a little over a month.

Is this going to be a "permanent" change? Anybody have any experience?
