Gah, naps!! As you know, E is a cat napper and was having approx 6 naps per day - 30 mins after 1hr awake time - at 6 months. Then she started nursery and refused to take any more than one 30 minute nap!! So, yeah, she's kinda down to one nap although she takes more on weekends (3-4). Its all just a big mess!!

@daniellemybelle: yeah I thought about 3hrs seemed right, but often she just has 2x 1hr naps. I don't know whether it's because he has 11.5-12hrs overnight and doesn't need much day sleep? Honestly, it's so true that every time you think you get into some semblance of a groove it gets shaken up again!!

I don't have any experience but if you are brave & want to do an experiment you could try 1 nap & see if she sleeps extra long! At that age I think they still need at least 3 hours of daytime sleep but she might consolidate it into one nap? I know of kids who went between 1 and 2 naps for a long time before consistently taking just 1 so it's possible you might be doing that... Or you just have a happy baby :) Fighting naps for us looks like a meltdown but hey, every kid is different!

I can't remember when S dropped from 3 to 2, but he dropped from 2 to 1 at 10 months. I wanted to cry! Haha...but he ended up sleeping 3 hours in the afternoon for his one nap which ended up being better for us.

We are at 6.5mths and LO has been taking 2 naps per day for the past few weeks. We do roughly naps after 3-3.5hrs of awake time and it's working really well for us most days...but there are days, like today, when she either doesn't seem ready for the first nap after 3.5hrs after waking up or ready for the 2nd after almost 4hrs awake.

It's weird because she used to be so prompt at letting us know she was getting tired/overtired and now if she's being entertained she's pretty happy. It's like all of a sudden her awake time has massively increased.

Is this what fighting a nap is all about? Sometimes it will take her a while to fall asleep (she doesn't fuss or cry, just talks or kicks about).
