It would depend on why I hated it. If I just found it annoying, I don't think that gives me the right to dictate what my child is or isn't allowed to like/have. If it's a bad role model or something I dislike for moral reasons, I would explain that and yes, not allow it. I'm not sure how that would play out as they got older. I think it'd become tricky when they're teens.
