The event included transportation on a school bus. It had harnessed seat belts like the link above. I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw them. We had his car seat in the seat with me and I held tight to it, tho it was supported by the front and rear of the seat backs. We needed it for his stroller anyway. There wasn't anyway to secure it. For daycare trips, I think it would depend on their age. I'd be more comfortable with an older toddler not belted in on a bus. And no carseat. There are some installed but I think only for kids who are tiny 3 year olds. He has never used it. I understand compartmentalization is what makes school busses safe, and I am okay with that on the roads in town, but I am not so convinced at higher speeds, with tractor trailers and whatnot on the roads. Plus car seats are not designed for use in those old style busses (I am not sure if the belts are retrofitted) and I'd be concerned that if installed in the bus, the location of the seat in front would be a problem. Or would you let them ride on the bus seat?
