@Rainbow Sprinkles: I had super long cycles, but I was charting and temping and I got my BFP on our first cycle TTC because I had been tracking it for 9 months. My daughter literally wouldn't be here if I weren't charting because I O'd on CD42! We were DTD every other day for almost 3 weeks waiting to O. It was crazy but it totally worked. I remember stalking BFPs with Os on CD 30+ on FF. good luck!

@blackbird: you'll only test at cd21 if you had shorter cycles, otherwise it might just be that you haven't ovulated yet! My doctor had me test 7 days after I thought I ovulated. Just wanted to make sure that didn't confuse anyone :)

I'm only in my second cycle post-BC but both have been long. The first cycle was 40 days but I didn't track anything except BD. The second cycle (currently) is on CD60. I'm fairly certain I O'ed on CD49 by OPK and temping. I only started temping mid-cycle though.

Well i never got a positive on an OPK (even though I got physical symptoms I was) and my doctor took a blood test at day 21. Mine were really low--if your progesterone levels are under a certain value, you aren't ovulating.

I was a long cycled girl (more like erratic cycled - sometimes 50-60 days, sometimes like 22), and it took us from January til September to get KO - I temped and checked CM, and basically took advantage of DH like every other day throughout any time I thought we could be close to the right time (not like he minded...).

@sslm: ahhhh! I wish I had signs like that!
I haven't started charting because I still get up with DD at night and I don't know how accurate it would be....

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I charted to confirm O, but I am lucky to get pretty clear physical signs of ovulation, like my boobs would hurt immediately after, and beforehand I'd get good ewcm plus I would be really horny!!

@lilteacherbee: congratulations!!! How crazy about the dates of your doctor appointment and BFP.

@chibee: agree! We got pregnant with DD as a total surprise, but under strange circumstances. I had just come off the pill, had no sort of spotting or period (I went almost 90 days with no period) and all the sudden bam! I was pregnant.

Needless to say I don't know much about this ttc business (although I am trying) and my long cycles are stressing me out!

I think I can give you guys some hope! I had erratic and long cycles. I got pregnant after ovulating around day 30 on our first cycle trying. That resulted in a mc but I then got pregnant on our second cycle trying after that, and I ovulated around day 30-35! Long annoying cycles don't necessarily make it harder, just more annoying bc you get fewer opportunities to actually try.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Thanks for posting this, I have very long cycles as well and it's frustrating to think about how us long-cycle people have less chances per year to conceive than normal people!

I have crazy long cycles. I would ovulate anywhere from day 30-40. It took us 3 cycles, but we miscarried. The second time it took us 5 more cycles (but 7 months). I am 5 weeks pregnant now and hoping this is really it! We started TTC last February. I had an appointment with my dr to talk about clomid on 3/08, but I got my BFP on 3/06!

Good luck! It's really hard to deal with long, frustrating cycles, but it is possible!

How long did it take you to conceive? Did you do it naturally?

We have been TTC officially since January (though NTNP for longer) and I am just wondering how likely it is I will get KU with these crazy cycles. I have been using OPKs but so far no positives. I have been tracking CM but it is all over the place....sometimes EWCM three times in one cycle! I'm confused!
