I honestly can’t say enough good things about castor oil! I know that sounds crazy but for me it worked so well and very minimal side effects. I only took 2 tablespoons an hour apart. I think most women take way too much. I took it around 2:00pm, started contractions around 5:00 pm, water broke at 10:00pm and gave birth at 1:43 am. Steroid treatment was a possibility, again to ensure the choice of an epi. They wanted to induce at 39-40 weeks. Last time it wasn't so bad because thankfully labor was fast, but I would not want to do Pitocin without an epidural!
