My husband pierced his ears when he was a young teen. The holes have since closed due to a bad reaction with a pair of fake metal earrings when he was a late teen. We don't have any plans to pierce our son's ears before they express a desire to do so. I went to school with a little boy with pierced eats in 3rd grade.
